The Cholq'ij Journal
The Cholq’ij Reflection Journal is a community offering two years in the making—born from ceremony, zine-making workshops, and collective dreaming. This 260-day reflection journal invites you to walk with the nawales, the day energies of the Maya Cholq’ij ceremonial calendar, through a full cycle of ancestral time.
Each page offers space for reflection, intention-setting, and tracking dreams, feelings, and events in relationship with the energies of each day. Rooted in Maya cosmology and designed for accessibility, this journal supports both new and experienced practitioners in reconnecting with cyclical, relational time.
Several collage and art pages featured throughout were created in community workshops on cacao and ixim (corn)—moments of creativity carried forward into this living offering.
The Cholq’ij Journal includes:
An introduction to the Maya Cholq’ij and guidance on starting a reflection practice
Descriptions of the 20 nawales and 13 tones
Daily and trecena reflection pages
Space to record moon phases, dreams, and intuitive insights
Community-created artwork and reflections
Format: 5.5” x 8.5”
Length: 202 pages
By purchasing this journal, you support the ongoing labor, printing, and distribution of future editions. Each copy reflects the time, care, and ceremonial attention poured into its creation.
