Ritual of Myth Making: Reclaim is an invitation to participate in ceremony. The exhibition will take viewers on a journey through time and space, exploring multiple Indigenous pasts, presents, and futures, resulting in a collective cycle of healing that embraces beauty, death, release, and abundance.

Event was hosted by Three Sisters Gardens. It was a fundraiser to celebrate indigenous art, music, food, and culture. Toj + Tijax was asked to build a community altar for the event. As community members walked by they were invited to add to the altar and pay reverence to Mother Earth.

This altar was created for the Nepantla Spora benefit exhibition for and by POC Fungi in San Diego, California. The altar represents the past and present co-existing. In the top panel we envisioned our ancestors as fungi in ceremony calling to us in the present to awaken to our indigeneity and our collective liberation.

Community altar created as part of a 10 BIPOC local artist cohort in Sacramento, California. We were invited to reimagine old newspaper containers into community altars. After community unveiling, the altars were installed throughout the city.
