About the event

Self-identified BIPOC, join us for this exciting workshop about the history of Ixim (maíz/corn) and the Maya counting system called the Chol’qij! This in-person gathering will take place at the Washington Neighborhood Center. Get ready for a unique experience filled with delicious Chicha (ancient fermented corn drink) from artist and fermentation enthusiast, Lorena Rodriguez, while learning the wisdom of the Chol’qij with The Living Maya Destiny Cards, including Maya traditions and our connection to the natural world. This event will include a community zine activity about the workshop learnings.
